The world debut of “19B,” the most recent film by Egyptian filmmaker Ahmad Abdalla, will take place at the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), where it will compete in the international competition.
The story revolves around a doorman who lives in an abandoned villa until a chance encounter with a neighbour changes the course of his life, and it features appearances by Egyptian actors Nahed El Sebaie, Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, and Fadwa Abed.
According to Hussein Fahmy, president of CIFF, “The film was praised by the festival’s programmers, which made us enthusiastic on having it among CIFF’s schedule of films for its International Competition.” Since we are confident that both viewers and critics will enjoy the movie, we are eagerly anticipating its premiere.
Films by Abdalla include his first feature film Heliopolis (2009), “Microphone” (2010), “Decor” (2014), and “Exterior/Night,” all of which have frequently been chosen at festivals throughout the world (2018).
