The Ministry of Awqaf is confronting sustainability via the perspective of Islamic research in their recently released book, with Egypt hosting the conference this year in Sharm El Sheikh.
The book, Protecting the Environment Between Legislative and Human Responsibility, was written by the Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa and a number of experts with the intention of demonstrating the connection between Islam, sustainable living, and the protection of natural resources. The book also emphasises Islamic Sharia principles, which place a strong emphasis on the duty to defend public and national interests through shared social responsibilities and ideals.
Dar Al-Ifta in Egypt has also lately issued its first fatwa endorsing green measures in accordance with Islamic law.
