NEW HIGH-TECH RADIATION THERAPY DEVICES ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN EGYPT

The Breast Cancer Hospital, a division of the National Cancer Institute at Cairo University and situated in New Cairo’s First Settlement, has started using a novel radiation device in experimental settings. The apparatus is the most recent technology available in the area of radiotherapy and is renowned for its sophisticated and precise treatment methods.

Given that approximately 70 patients per day are anticipated to benefit from radiotherapy services, the experimental operation of the linear accelerator device at the Breast Cancer Hospital represents a leap in the quality of treatment services offered to patients visiting the hospital. Operations are carried out under the close supervision of renowned physicians, physicists, technicians, and nurses.

The National Bank of Egypt donated the cost of each of the 2 million USD radiation equipment used at the Breast Cancer Hospital.

The Breast Cancer Hospital in the First Settlement is being developed by Cairo University through significant additions, an increase in outpatient clinics, the creation of patient rest rooms, and a doubling of the diagnostic technology and chemotherapy beds.
