A NEW LAW FORCING INFLUENCERS TO DISCLOSE THE USE OF FILTERS OR EDITING
The French government has proposed laws that would make influencers disclose whether or not their social media posts include photos that have been edited or filtered. The suggested legislation would also outlaw the promotion of paid advertisements for cryptocurrency, gambling, and cosmetic surgery.
The maximum penalty for violating this potential law would be two years in prison and a fine of up to $32,515.
