A public auction for a few public space licenses was announced by the governorate of Matrouh in a notice published in the auctioning section of the Al-Ahram daily. El Gharam Beach, which served as the backdrop for the well-known Laila Mourad movie of the same name in the 1950s, is one of the locations up for auction.
El Gharam beach auction’s admittance price, which will begin at EGP 150,000 on Sunday, May 28th, will be strictly regulated by the governorate.
