“ALNAS HOSPITAL” PAINTS A MURAL TO EASE CHILDREN’S JOURNEY

While illness and the accompanying emotional wounds cannot be stitched closed and healed through a series of carefully chosen inspirational sayings and celebrity encounters, the small-scale actions add up to meaningful movements that inspire hope, comfort, and sometimes even just a sense of normalcy in difficult times.
One of the major paediatric philanthropic hospitals in the MENA region, @alnas.hospital collaborated with the freelance marketplace @inploy.me to paint a mural intended to ease the emotional scars of their patients.

According to Donia Hosny, a child life specialist at Al Nas Hospital, “various portions of the hospital have been turned into different themes, with this latest painting painted as a depiction of the vivid imagination and dream world of children.” “The mural reflects characters, colours, and shapes that can be sources of inspiration of diversion during the incredibly stressful time spent waiting before surgery.

The painting, which was entirely financed by Inploy and was created by the multi-disciplinary art company @hedayahstudio , speaks eloquently about the hospital’s unwavering commitment to not just treating physical illness but also easing the mental torment that they accost. We have worked hard to establish a child-friendly environment because hospitals are typically places of anxiety and fear for anyone, especially children, says Hosny. This will help the kids develop more positive connections with the hospital.

The mural tells the story of a world in which suffering is just a sentiment of the past through a riot of colour and quirky drawings. There is an uncertainty that is similar to the precariousness of the cards that the kids have been With its floating and unfettered appearance, the artwork purposefully mimics an unknowable quality that roots it and enables kids to refocus their energy and use their imaginations freely.”
