The 79th Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera. It takes place at Venice Lido from 31 August to 10 September 2022.
The Festival was founded by the National Fascist Party in Venice in August 1932, the festival is part of the Venice Biennale, one of the world’s oldest exhibitions of art, created by the Venice City Council on 19 April 1893.
