As soon as the ‘Masyaf’ sleeper trains re-enter service, get ready to nap your way to Matrouh! The National Authority for Egyptian Railways has declared that the Masyaf trains would shortly resume service on the Cairo-Matrouh line in time for the forthcoming summer season.
The sleeper trains are only available three months a year and come with air-conditioned cars. They assist in making the yearly habit of going to the beach more comfortable and less sweaty during that time.
The statement is a part of a larger plan by Egyptian National Railways to increase domestic tourism in Marsa Matrouh and accommodate the high volume of tourists on the Matrouh line.
