AT SAQQARA NECROPOLIS, EGYPTOLOGIST DR. ZAHI HAWAS REVEALS A 4300-YEAR-OLD INTACT MUMMY
Dr. Zahi Hawass, a renowned Egyptian archaeologist and former minister of state for antiquities affairs, has found the oldest and most preserved mummy ever found that is not a royal. The priest-related mummy was discovered in the Saqqara Necropolis and was encrusted in gold flakes.
Dr. Zahi Hawass and the Supreme Council of Antiquities, who oversaw the dig, not only produced this significant discovery, but also unearthed a number of statues that date back more than four thousand years.
During the excavation, two other graves, numerous pottery artefacts, and a locked door that might still reveal more were also found.
