Cairo Runners launches the nation’s first senior walking rally
With the nation’s first senior walking rally, the Golden Years Foundation, an online community and foundation devoted to senior well-being, is encouraging Egyptian seniors to put their best foot forward. On October 22nd, from 10 AM to 4 PM, the rally will face off against all rivals at Merryland Park in Heliopolis in collaboration with Cairo Runners, Egypt’s top running group.
Seniors and their families are all invited to participate in the walk, show support from the sidelines, or just unwind and take in the after-event festivities.
Golden Years Foundation was founded by Dina Hashish as a Facebook community during the COVID-19 outbreak as individuals sought solace online amid the lockdown. Over 20,000 people joined the group, all eager to spread the word about how important both physically and mentally healthy aging Seniors have to have access to free online activities like virtual get-togethers, yoga lessons, and painting classes thanks to the foundation.
