CAIRO RUNNERS MOVES CAIRO HALF MARATHON FROM DOWNTOWN TO HELIOPOLIS
One of the biggest marathon organisers in Egypt, Cairo Runners, has revealed a new venue for their annual Cairo Half Marathon this year.
The Cairo Half Marathon, which was initially intended to take place in Downtown Cairo, will now take place in Heliopolis, where it ran successfully the previous year.
After careful consideration, Cairo Runners and the Egyptian government decided that Heliopolis was a better secure location because of its larger, flatter pathways, which are easier to block off from approaching traffic. Cairo Runners will be able to gain international certification for the event thanks to the choice.
The Cairo Half Marathon is scheduled for March 10th, 2023, with Merryland Park serving as the designated starting location. Tickets can be purchased till February 27.
