Egypt Cooperates with Germany to reduce carbon emissions

In an effort to further prioritise more sustainable energy sources, the governments of Egypt and Germany have inked an agreement to cooperate on green hydrogen and liquefied natural gas (LNG) production in Egypt.

The agreements were written through two declarations of intent between the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the German Ministry of Climate Action and Economic Affairs, along with the Egyptian Ministries of International Cooperation, Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

According to Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Rania Al-Mashat, the partnership aims to reduce carbon emissions by promoting less wasteful forms of fuel, with green hydrogen playing a critical role in the global transformation of energy resources.
