EGYPT RESUMES ETHIOPIAN RENAISSANCE DAM NEGOTIATIONS AFTER THE 4TH FILLING

A new round of negotiations on the Renaissance Dam has started in Cairo with the participation of representatives from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia, after 2-year hiatus and the dam’s fourth filling.

The Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Hani Sewilam, affirmed the importance of reaching an agreement on the rules of filling and operating the Renaissance Dam, taking into consideration the other three countries.

Hani Sewilam that the continued filling and operation of the dam in the absence of an agreement is a violation of the Declaration of Principles agreement signed in 2015, while Sudan republic Demands to stop filling the Renaissance Dam.
