EGYPT TAKES BACK THE GREEN COFFIN FROM HOUSTON MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCES
Egypt successfully succeeded to retrieve the green coffin from the Houston Museum of Natural Science in the United States as part of its plan to collect all smuggled artefacts. The coffin cover was stolen from the Abusir necropolis, illegally smuggled into the US in 2008, and then loaned to the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences in 2013. This information comes from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, which was in charge of taking possession of the artefact and returning it.
