EGYPTIAN DARBUKA ARTIST SABRINE TO PERFORM AT COP27

Sabrine Darbuka, or Sabrine El Hossamy (@sabrinedarbukaofficial), the most well-known female darbuka player in Egypt and the Middle East, is going to demonstrate her diverse percussion prowess in the Green Zone at the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference. El Hossamy will play her handpan drum in front of a large international audience on November 12 at 6:30 PM and on November 13 at 5:30 PM as a part of the conference’s cultural exchange.

El Hossamy has performed at numerous international jazz and percussion festivals with her unique multi-cultural and cross-genre style after being coached by Turkey’s Misrli Ahmet, one of the best darbuka players in the world. She was recognised for her outstanding performance at the Egypt National Festival and in the2017’s Free Festival in Jordan In order to share her knowledge and establish a place where musicians and music enthusiasts can come together to study and interact, she founded Dom Tak Cairo in 2016.
