FEMALE EMPLOYMENT RATES EXPECTED TO RISE TO 25% WITHIN 2023
The Ministry of Planning and Development revealed their strategy for social development for 2023, which calls for creating 900,000 new jobs and raising the employment percentage of women to 25%.
Currently, 16% of the formal workforce is made up of working women. The strategy aims to eliminate discrimination against women in the Egyptian workforce. In addition, the new job openings aim to lower the rate of unemployment among people aged 15 to 29 from 65% to 5%.
The plan, according to the government, will attack unemployment holistically, taking into account structural problems like gender among various communities and the informal sector.
