FIFTH PERSON HAS BEEN CURED FROM HIV
A 53-year-old Düsseldorf man has been declared HIV-cured by doctors in Germany, making him the sixth person to achieve this feat.
Although the patient had his first effective treatment in 2019, experts were unable to establish that he had been declared medically cured at the time. The Düsseldorf patient is still free of any virus after three years!
Stem cell transplantation cannot be made available as an HIV cure to the general people since it is a difficult procedure with major risks.
