FIRST HIJABI JUDGE IN THE USA NADIA KHAF
Nadia Kahf, a family law and immigration attorney from Wayne, New Jersey, challenges societal norms by becoming the first hijabi woman to hold the position of judge in the country’s New Jersey Superior Court.
“I am proud to represent the Muslim and Arab communities in New Jersey in the United States,” Kahf declared as she took the oath on the Moshaf she received from her grandmother to mark this moment. I want the younger population to understand that they can be themselves and practise their religion without fear. Diversity is not a weakness for us; rather, it is an asset.
