FOR THE FIRST TIME ACTRESS MENNA SHALABY TO STAR IN A MUSICAL PLAY

With a piece written by renowned Egyptian playwright Medhat El Adl, Egyptian starlet Menna Shalaby is stepping out in uncharted musical theatre area. The project is now under progress and will comprise a variety of dance and musical performances, according to the acclaimed author, whose works include masterpieces like “Saeidi Fil Gameaa Al Amerikeya” (1998) and “Short w’ Fanella w’ Kab” (2000).

 

The actress is well recognised for her risk-taking parts, including those in “El Saher” (2001), “Banat Wust El Balad” (2005), and “Diamond Dust” (2018). She most recently appeared in the Ramadan play “Taghyeer Gaw” (2023). ‘Every Week Has a Friday’ earned Shalaby her first nomination for an International Emmy Award in 2021.
