FOR THE FIRST TIME SPAIN GRANTS WOMEN WHO HAVE SEVERE MENSTRUAL PAIN PAID MEDICAL LEAVE
As the first nation in Europe to do so, Spain’s parliament recently passed a law entitling women to paid medical leave for extremely painful periods. The act intends to reduce the stigma associated with menstruation and promote the health and wellbeing of women.
Only a handful of nations globally, including Japan, Indonesia, and Zambia, presently grant menstrual leave.
