In “GOODBYE JULIA,” which is set in Khartoum shortly before the South and North split up, a Northern woman who lives with her husband Akram kills a Southern man. She then hires Julia, the man’s wife, to work as a maid in her home and assists her in her quest for atonement.
Through the Sudanese production company Station Films, “GOODBYE JULIA” is co-produced by Mohammed Al-OMDA and the renowned Sudanese director Amjad Abu AL_Ala, who for the first time in history represented Sudan in the Oscar nominations for best foreign film in 2020.
