The Ministry of Health and Population’s spokesperson, Dr. Khalid Abd El-Ghaffar, announced that the Ministry will require all gynaecologists to justify performing C-Section births before beginning such procedures.
The decision was made in response to a sharp rise in C-Section birth rates, which increased from 26.7% in 2008 to 52% in 2014 before reaching a peak of 70% in 2021.
