HURGHADA OPENS THE FIRST UNDERWATER MUSEUM IN AFRICA SOON

Major General Amr Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea, announced the establishment of the first ever military museum in the waters of the Red Sea as part of a new campaign to protect the natural coral reefs of the Red Sea. It is not the first of its kind in Egypt, but rather in Africa. This unique museum will bring together three different diving sites in Hurghada.

 

The Ministry of the Environment, the Red Sea Protected Areas, and civil society are working together on this effort. Major General Muhammad Al-Bandary, Secretary General of the Red Sea Governorate, revealed that 15 unique artifacts, with their exciting story and importance, will be immersed in three different locations, to display Egypt’s military history.
