IN 2022 MORE THAN 11.7 MILLION TOURISTS VISITED EGYPT
After a two-year decline in tourism due to travel restrictions during the COVID-19 epidemic, more than 11.7 million tourists visited Egypt in 2022, a markedly increased attendance.
According to Ahmed Issa, minister of tourism and antiquities, visitor numbers are predicted to rise by further 28% in 2023.
The continued efforts to promote Egypt internationally through advertising campaigns, financial investments in the hospitality sector, and numerous recreational initiatives—all of which will be implemented during the year—are largely responsible for the sluggish but steady increase in tourism.
