IN ORDER TO CONTROL EXPENSES SPOTIFY LAYS OFF 6% OF THEIR WORKFORCE
In an effort to reduce costs, Spotify reportedly joins the most recent waves of tech layoffs. Approximately 6% of the company’s staff, or about 600 workers, have been let go. “As you are well aware, over the last few months we’ve made a great effort to reign in expenditures, but it just hasn’t been enough,” wrote Daniel Ek, the company’s CEO, in a note to the staff.
Prior to that declaration, 12,000 Google employees and 10,000 Microsoft staff had their jobs cut last week.
