Users will be required to utter random text prompts as part of a 15-minute training session for the future feature, “Personal Voice.” The software will then mimic the user’s voice using machine learning, a type of artificial intelligence.
In order to protect security and privacy, Apple did emphasise that these customised voices will be stored locally on the user’s phone as opposed to a cloud.
