LARGE MOSQUES WILL HOST TARAWEEH PRAYERS DURING RAMADAN WITH NO TIME LIMIT
The Ministry of Awqaf’s head of the religion division declared that the large mosques that typically conduct Friday prayers will also host Tarawih prayers without a time limit in advance of the holy month of Ramadan. The head went on to say that it is acceptable to lengthen or reduce the Tarawih prayers, and that the decision will be made by the imams of the mosques and the worshippers.
More than 16,000 mosques will be set aside for Ramadan prayers in all of their forms, with 10,460 mosques ready for Tahajjud prayers and 6,201 for l’tikaf prayers, according to a statement made earlier this year by the Ministry of Awqaf.
In addition, the Ministry of Awqaf announced that Tarawih and Al Fajr prayers will be accompanied with religious lessons and reflections throughout the whole month.
