| MAI SALAMA WINS GLOBAL WOMEN IN MARKETING AWARD

Mai Salama, a founding partner of the Creative Industry Summit, has won the coveted Women in Marketing (WiM) award in the category for “Outstanding Contribution to Marketing,” making her the first Middle Eastern and Egyptian woman to do so.

In order to acknowledge the influence that women have had on millions of people on the social, economic, and political fronts, the WiM awards were established in 2010. Outstanding male and female champions of gender equality from some of the greatest corporations, including Google, HP, Unilever, Burberry, SAP, and Live Nation, have been honoured by the awards.

The Worx is one of the most successful event management and consultancy firms in the MENA region, with a sizable clientele, and is owned by Mai Salama and her cousin Neamat Khalil. They were in charge of bringing Egypt’s 26th Annual Women’s Economic Forum
and in 2017 became the recognised Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity’s official Egypt office. The Nu Digital Awards, the first of their kind to honour the creative brilliance of the MENA area, were subsequently co-founded by them.

The Creative Industry Summit held its 14th edition in Egypt this year, and it also held its debut edition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
