The Ministry of Health and Population has released a brand-new form that will enable Egyptian citizens to formally express their desire to become organ donors for the first time.
Since years, there has been discussion over organ donation in Egypt, with varied opinions and official regulations placed in place. The document is seen as a step toward granting people in Egypt more autonomy over their decision to donate their organs.
The choice is made in conjunction with attempts to construct the largest organ transplant facility in the Middle East as well as initiatives to raise awareness of the advantages of organ donation in terms of the lives it can save on a national level.
