NEW SAVING CERTIFICATES RETURNS 100 BILLION EGP
Since introducing new high-yielding saving certificates with an unprecedented 25% interest rate and a one-year maturity period, the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr have gathered approximately EGP 100 billion in just 48 hours.
Savings certificates are available with a monthly interest rate of 22.5% or an annual interest rate of 25%. Both the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr opened their doors over the holidays on January 6 and January 8 to accommodate Egyptian citizens’ need for the new certificates.
Only six months after they are issued may the certificates be liquified, and their availability is limited.
