PRICES FOR THE NEW ELECTRIC TRAIN TICKETS ARE DISCLOSED
The electric train lines running across Greater Cairo are now offering discounted daily, weekly, monthly, and annual subscriptions.
In order to encourage owners of private vehicles to use public transit, free private parking spaces were also provided at Cairo Light Railway Train (LRT) stations. Also, a train will now run every 15 minutes, with more frequent stops made during the morning and evening rush hours.
Currently, a three-stop trip is EGP 10, while a five-stop trip is EGP 15. More than seven stops incur a 20 EGP surcharge. Depending on the number of stations, monthly subscription fees vary: three stations cost EGP 300 per month, five stations cost EGP 500 per month, and seven or more stations cost EGP 600 per month. Moreover, annual subscriptions for two and three metro lines are available for EGP 2,760 and EGP 3,465 respectively.
