Qatar to invest in Egypt
According to a formal statement released on September 28th, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly welcomed the beginning of an Egyptian-Qatari business conference on a mutually agreed-upon date.
Madbouly met with Salem Mubarak Al-Shafi, the ambassador of Qatar to Egypt
Al-Shafi predicted that Qatari investment in Egypt will expand in the next years.
Additionally, according to Madbouly, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi instructed the government to streamline all procedures for Qataris looking to invest in Egypt. It is important to note that trade between Egypt and Qatar increased from $25.4 million in 2020 to $44.8 million in 2021. El-Sisi made his first trip to Qatar on September 13 when he took a plane to Doha to start a formal two-day visit.
