RAMSES RAILWAY STATION IN CAIRO WILL SOON BE COVERED BY SOLAR ENERGY PANELS
On top of the Ramses Railway Station, also known as Misr Station, Cairo’s main train station, a solar energy facility is now being built.
In order to increase the usage of clean energy and reduce the consumption of electric energy, the station will shortly be powered by solar energy. This would encourage the development of an integrated environmental system for Egypt’s infrastructure, cutting down on both operational expenses and carbon emissions.
The National Authority for Egyptian Railways, the Industrial Modernization Center, and the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy are working together on the solar energy station project. A grant from the United Nations Development Program paid for the building.
