Renowned singer “ Mostafa Kamel “ is the new head of the Musicians Syndicate
Following elections earlier today, renowned singer, songwriter, and producer Mostafa Kamel has now replaced Hany Shaker as the head of the Musicians Syndicate. There were 1,800 participants in total, and Kamel received a lead of more than 400 votes.
The elections come after the departure of veteran Egyptian singer Hany Shaker in June of last year.
Shaker had a reputation for being quite divisive over the years, notably after he outright banned mahraganat and shaabi music.
Kamel is a music producer and composer who has previously collaborated with Egyptian celebrities including Amr Diab. The musician is most well-known for his varied and popular songs, which includes the famous song “Eshta Yaba.”
