RUSSIA STARTS BUILDING THE WORLD’S LARGEST NUCLEAR REACTOR IN EGYPT

Russia announced the starting of building “Al Dabaa” nuclear power plant in Egypt as it is scheduled to be launched in 2028.

The Russian ambassador to Cairo affirmed that, will be a new symbol of their friendship with Egypt.

The first foundations for the fourth reactor are scheduled to be poured in November, after obtaining a construction permit from the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority.

In 2015, Egypt and Russia signed a cooperation agreement to establish an atomic energy station at an investment cost of US$25 billion.

The Dabaa station will include four “Three +” generation reactors operating with pressurized water.
