The Sharabia area will begin turning off all billboard lights at 9:30 pm as part of its efforts to rationalise energy usage in Cairo, which has risen by more than 25%. Additionally, LED bulbs will now be used in all governorate-affiliated governmental and public buildings. Additionally, after business hours, lighting in government buildings, sports arenas, football fields, and covered halls will now be entirely turned off. Public squares, main axes, and public lighting will all now dim by 75%. It’s important to note that the government estimated that shifting just 10% of the load each month would result in monthly savings of about $300 million and 15% in monthly savings of $450 million.
