THE CAIRO OPERA HOUSE HOSTS THE RETURN OF THE CLASSIC OPERA RIGOLETTO BY THE ITALIAN COMPOSER VERDI
The famous opera Rigoletto by Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi will be presented at the Cairo Opera House from January 11 to January 13 under the direction of the orchestra conducted by maestro Mohamed Saeed Basha and the chorus and ballet groups of the Cairo Opera House.
At the opening of the Khedivial Opera House in 1869, Rigoletto was first performed for Egyptian audiences as a way to commemorate the momentous opening of the Suez Canal.
Verdi wrote the opera in 40 days, and it featured sad dialogue about a dark curse and a forbidden love. The Cairo Opera House’s Main Hall will host the performance beginning at 8 PM.
