New entry requirements for the Bent Masr beauty pageant have been established, allowing married, separated, and veiled women to compete this year.
The Miss Egypt competition has been held in Egypt since 1927, and the beauty pageant was established in 2016 as a continuation of it.
This revelation follows the introduction of a comparable rule modification for the Miss Universe International earlier in the year. Before, only female contestants between the ages of 20 and 29 who were neither married nor parents were permitted to compete in the Miss Egypt Pageant.
The participants’ maximum age hasn’t altered, but the new regulations aim to encourage inclusivity and flexibility in terms of entrants’ looks.
