Egypt’s oldest and largest papyrus was discovered in Saqqara in 2018 and is presently on display at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir. The 16-meter-long “Waziry Papyrus” contains 113 spells from the Book of the Dead.
With more than 120,000 items, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, which was first constructed in 1901, is home to the world’s biggest collection of Egyptian artefacts.
The “Waziry Papyrus” is the centrepiece of one of the museum’s main wings, which has just undergone repairs and is now open to visitors.
