THE SUN SHINES ON KING RAMSES II FACE’S STATUE
The King Ramses II statue in the Grand Egyptian Museum had the light shine on it in the morning due to a solar alignment.
According to a previous statement made by the Grand Egyptian Museum, the ancient Egyptians managed to erect the statue of King Ramses II in the Abu Simbel temple with the sun perpendicular to his face on the same day and at the same hour every year to commemorate his coronation.
By positioning a statue of King Ramses II in the museum’s grand hall in a corner where the sun shines through on February 21 of each year, a team of architects and archaeologists at the Grand Egyptian Museum were able to replicate this event.
