The dating industry has been rocked by a new social experiment known as “pear°,” which asks people to include a pear emoji in their social media bios to indicate they are available for DMs.
A green ring that singles can wear in public to indicate their single status was also made available by the trial.
Pear°’s goal is to do away with the need for dating applications, according to a representative for the trial.
