YOU WILL SOON BE ABLE TO TAKE A CAR FROM CAIRO TO CAPE TOWN IN SOUTH AFRICA

You’ll be happy to know that a new continent-long road will soon make it possible for you to drive from Cairo to Cape Town, the capital of South Africa, if you’ve ever imagined spending long days travelling through Africa.

The 10,000-kilometer journey to Cape Town will take place through nine different African nations. From Alexandria’s port on the Mediterranean Sea to Cairo, which would serve as the official beginning point, the route will continue through Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Cape Town.
The 1,115-kilometer piece of road in Egypt, which travels through several governorates, including Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, and Aswan, will be fully operational by the end of 2024, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Transport.
